Vitality is health and life insurance that rewards people being healthy, making it easier for them to get fit and stay active. So far, so simple. But have you told your clients just how easy it is to claim their discounts and rewards? They can get started as soon as they become a member and you can show them how.
REGISTER YOUR CLIENTS ON THE MEMBER ZONE
The first step is to get your clients registered on the Vitality Member Zone. This is where they can access all the Vitality partners, discounts and rewards. Partners and Rewards vary depending on Vitality plan so always ensure your clients understand which benefits they are getting when they take out a plan with Vitality.
Once registered, you should encourage your clients to take the free online Health Review to generate their Vitality Age. We use the information provided to set goals and suggest Vitality partners to help achieve those goals. It’s also the first step to accessing some of the rewards.
It’s all very straightforward, but it may help if you’re on hand to offer guidance, highlight relevant benefits and talk your clients through earning Vitality points and increasing their Vitality Status (from Bronze, Silver, Gold to Platinum) when they first log in.
“I sit down with all my new Vitality clients and help them to log on to the Member Zone for the first time, so I can guide them through setting up their passwords and showing them around the site,” says Rob Downham of Reward Health. “It’s a great way to show just how many rewards Vitality offers, and how easy they are to claim.”
Members can check how many points they have at any time by logging in to the Member Zone and viewing their Vitality points statement. You may also want to remind them to update their bank details in the secure area of the Member Zone if they are eligible for cashback benefits so they receive their cashback into their nominated account.
HELP THEM UNDERSTAND THEIR HEALTH
Members can take a free online Health Review to help gain a view of their overall health on the Member Zone. VitalityHealth members can also take a free annual Vitality Healthcheck with Vitality partner LloydsPharmacy.
Members receive discounts of up to 50% on various health screens with Vitality partners including BMI Healthcare, Nuffield Health and Bluecrest. To reward members for understanding their health, we give Vitality points that go towards increasing their Vitality Status based on certain clinical indicators, such as blood pressure or cholesterol levels.
To help your client complete their Health Review, make a Vitality Healthcheck appointment or book a half price health screen, direct them to the relevant partner page under ‘Partners and Rewards’ on the Member Zone.
SHOW THEM HOW TO GET FIT AND SAVE
Members also receive discounts on fitness tracking devices, such as 50% off selected Garmin and Polar devices and a discounted Fitbug once per plan year. They can log in to the Member Zone to claim their fitness device and to link it to their Vitality account to earn points. Points will then be added after every workout. If they don’t want to purchase a fitness device, they can always download the free Moves app and link it to Vitality to record their points.
If they are gym goers, they will find our offer of 50% off flexible individual monthly gym membership fees at Virgin Active* (a joining fee will apply) appealing. To join Virgin Active, members simply take their Vitality membership card to their local Virgin Active health club. Vitality points will then be added to their account following each visit. Members can also receive discounts on equipment, such as 50% off a pair of sports shoes from Sweatshop. They just need to go to the relevant Vitality partner page under ‘Partners and Rewards’ on the Member Zone for more details.
DIRECT THEM TO THE REWARDS OF THEIR VITALITY PLAN
Members who gain nine points each week or who are on Gold or Platinum Vitality status can unlock incentives including cinema tickets at Vue or Cineworld (from April) or a handcrafted drink at Starbucks every week.
Members can also earn Status Rewards to receive great discounts from Vitality’s travel partners including British Airways, Eurostar and Mr & Mrs Smith. The higher the member’s Vitality Status, the greater their rewards.
Members can claim these rewards by following the instructions on the relevant Vitality partner page under ‘Partners and Rewards’ on the Member Zone.
